Our People: Innovation in Action Award

We are excited to introduce the Irish Heritage Trust Innovation in Action Award, a new recognition for employees who have demonstrated exceptional creativity, resilience, and forward-thinking through innovative ideas, solutions, projects, or events. The Innovation in Action Award celebrates those who push boundaries and drive meaningful change, complementing our Living the Values tradition.

We are delighted to share the two inaugural winners:

Tara Carroll – Strokestown Park House, Roscommon

Tara is passionate about Strokestown Park and the incredible volunteer community that helps it thrive. With a PhD in Computer Science and a background in IT as a developer, project manager, and lecturer, Tara brings a unique blend of expertise and heart to her role as Volunteer Coordinator.

Tara loves connecting with volunteers, organising volunteer events and training, helping to create opportunities for everyone to feel valued and included. Her recent initiatives, including collaborative projects like the Garden Meitheal, and enhancing the student work experience programme, reflect her commitment and creative ability to building a welcoming, supportive environment where staff and volunteers work together toward a shared goal.

Caoimhe Connick – Johnstown Castle, Estate Museum & Gardens, Wexford

Caoimhe has a lifelong love for Johnstown Castle, a place she first visited as a child and now helps bring to life through her role as Events and Digital Marketing Coordinator. Starting as a Visitor Services Assistant in 2021, she has progressed quickly in her career, driven by her passion for the castle’s history and future.

Her creativity and determination shone through when she spearheaded the first-ever Garden Fair, coordinating over 40 vendors and welcoming 2,000 visitors to an event that exceeded expectations. Caoimhe loves creating experiences that allow families to make lasting memories and takes pride in ensuring Johnstown Castle continues to inspire generations.
